God Did It Again...Through You!

God showed up again through you, friends

We shared that our Toy Store ministry needed toys and look at what you did!

And the mailman is delivering new toys each day here at the office. So many under-resourced families will be blessed because of your generosity. Please lift up our Toy Store volunteers and efforts this coming weekend. Pray God will use it as a bridge to give Help and Hope in Jesus.

If you want to keep the joy and love flowing...

We need some help! The Life Center Food Pantry is a full-choice pantry, providing quality, healthy groceries to individuals or families in need in our community.

On Saturday, December 18, at 1pm our Solve7 box truck will creak and groan its way onto our campus overloaded with food from the Harrisons Mayor's Food Drive. An enormous amount of food! We are looking for a few additional volunteers who can lend a hand to help unload, sort, store and shelve the shipment of food. All ages and families can assist. If you would be willing to help that Saturday for an hour or so beginning at 1pm, just let us know by sending an email to Life Center Director, Jody Burgin at jburgin@whitewatercrossing.org.

The Messiah is in the mess

Perhaps you are not seeing God show up in this season so far. Maybe all is NOT calm and bright for you this Advent. My friend, Jerry Francis sent me a fantastic blog this week to remind us the Messiah is in the mess.

Put Christ back in Christmas

JT did such a good job last Sunday unpacking the Shepherds and choosing praise over pride. Someone penned this parody of that gospel narrative in a tragically, all too common description of the season.

And there were in the same country children keeping watch over their stockings by night. And lo! It was said unto them "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy that is for all people who can afford them. For there will be given great feasts of turkey, dressing and cake; and many presents; and this shall be a sign unto you, ye shall find the presents, wrapped in bright paper, lying beneath a tree adorned with tinsel, colored balls, and lights. And suddenly, there will be with you a multitude of relatives and friends, descending and saying, "Thank you so much, it was just what I wanted."

Sadly, that's how many will remember and act this Christmas. Maybe you can change that this week and put Christ squarely back in Christmas again.

See you this Sunday, as I teach on Joseph and how he Wondered in the Waiting. Read Matthew 1:18-25 as you prepare.

P.S. Stress and anxiety are heightened, especially during the holiday season. Dave Ramsey has a helpful blog on how to handle that. Don't just survive - thrive this December!
