Direct from David: Some weeks are better than others! Want to know why?

Some weeks I absolutely love being a pastor at a church like Whitewater. (There are a few days that I don’t too, but that’s another Direct!) Let me tell you why…

Last Sunday. It all started with our Sunday morning services with Easter Eggs…

I spoke about what Jesus thought about being a steward of all HIS stuff. I love sharing information that can set people free from financial bondage. We are all claiming Proverbs 3:5-10: ‘Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones. Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty And your vats will overflow with new wine.’

I told the story of William Borden, a consummate steward and asked you to read further about him. Here is a superb article.

Last Sunday evening. The day was capped off with a wonderful evening of Worship led by Michael Boggs and our Whitewater worship team. It was needed, anointed, and well attended. We will definitely do again!

This Friday. It is Michael Jr. on March 23! Laughter is good medicine and I guarantee you’ll get a good dose this Friday night.

I get to be a Solve 7 Ambassador. As many of you know, we’ve been focusing on Solve 7 and how to solve physical problems to create a spiritual opportunity. (Shannan Davis talked about that last Sunday night.) But now we want to take things to the next level by asking you to join us in being an ambassador and declaring in which schools or communities you will Solve 7. Sign up at solve7.org and we will invite you into a Facebook group where we can share ideas, encouragement, prayers, and requests. Because if Jesus didn’t go alone, neither should we!

Easter Weekend in 10 days. We have three worship gatherings on Easter weekend. In order to ensure space on Sunday morning, we are asking you to attend on Saturday if possible or serve on Saturday and attend on Sunday. Our greatest serving opportunities are in Guest Services and Harbortown. I love Easter so much because it is one of the best opportunities to invite. Use one of those Easter Invite Cards and invite someone (or multiple someones!) to Whitewater for our Easter weekend experience. If you do…

  1. They might be surprised. (They might actually enjoy things around here because it’s not church like they remember from their past.)
  2. They might be encouraged. (Believe it or not, there are lots of hopeless and hurting people out there.)
  3. They might meet Jesus. (Someone’s eternity could be altered because of your invitation.)

This Sunday. I get to preach on my favorite person we’re trying to be like (Jesus) and answer one of life’s greatest questions – What happens when we die? And depending on this freaky weather, I might also get to use skis to get here. Not as happy about that this week!
