Our leaders and volunteers are cleared through a national background check before they are accepted on our serving team. As volunteers join our team, they work through our training material that communicates the policies and procedures we have in place to keep students safe. Leaders are expected to be role models, reflecting who Jesus is at all times. They practice confidentiality, but will ALWAYS pass on any information or concerns they have that suggest a student could be dangerous to themselves or others. Adults and student leaders are clearly identified by lanyards.
Other safety and security measures include:
- Check-In and Check-Out system helps us to know who is in our care during programming and provides quick reports should a crisis situation arise.
- Staff and volunteers are trained how to handle crisis situations such as fire and tornado, as well as health emergencies.
- Adults are trained how to minister and care for students without being alone (out of public eye) with them.
- Zero tolerance for inappropriate affection between leader and student.
- Zero tolerance for weapons, drugs and/or alcohol.
