Hey Whitewater,

How are you doing? Really. Our staff team has been praying for you. Remember - churches are not being closed. Buildings are being closed. YOU are the church wherever you are!

Outbreak Opportunities

What if people used their isolation time at home during the coronavirus outbreak to finally read the whole Bible? Turn off that TV and turn some pages of God's Word.

What if you actually got to meet/serve your neighbors on your street? We had an awesome Outbreak Opportunity this week at the Hoxworth Blood Drive here at Whitewater. So many showed up to give in this critical way, especially during this time of the coronavirus. Enough blood was donated to save a potential of 183 lives!

Staff

Jon Tisevich is now able to start on our staff much sooner than June! All of his current theater shows were shut down for the rest of the year due to coronavirus, so he is able to work in Cincinnati now!

And if you need a smile right now, our staff are here for you with a drive-through service. Humor is a great morale booster for all of us!

Speaking of our wonderful staff, we have been encouraging all staff to work from home (unless essential at the church) starting this week to comply with Governor DeWine's order about measures to fight coronavirus. The safety of our staff/volunteer team is a high priority right now. While we will continue with our Church Online efforts, we will only have the minimum (necessary) individuals at the church campus, so we appreciate your flexibility and patience.

Church Online

We really are functioning as one church with thousands of locations. Thousands are watching Church Online, which happens Sundays at 10:30am.

And many are giving online or mailing their checks in. This is incredible as we realize many in our church have lost their income.

Give Online

We may be forced to distance ourselves physically, but that doesn't mean we can't stay connected through all the amazing technology we've been blessed with.

Daily Dose of Hope

Don't forget about the Daily Dose on Facebook or YouTube Monday through Friday at 7pm!

From David

I just want to give a huge shout-out to all our servant leaders at The Life Center who are on the front lines of our efforts to be the feet and hands of Christ during this challenging time. Despite the coronavirus chaos, our church family is doing some really great work Christ is proud of. These things included the blood drive last Monday that was hugely successful and some food deliveries. Here's an email and picture we received:

This afternoon, our small group delivered 98 food bags to our backpack club kiddos at Miamiview, Westbrook, Hooven and Elizabethtown. Bill Wagner asked me to send this pic to you. Our group has done food packs for the Mobile Food Pantry, but today was our first opportunity to meet some of God's most precious people. Smiles, thank yous, twinkles in their eyes- it doesn't get any better than this!

Solve 7 in action. God has equipped Whitewater for this time, for these needs. It's a privilege to join in His work.

Please pray we will reach and bring the hope of Jesus to as many people as possible!

As the Senior Minister here, my executive staff and I are committed to helping others in very generous ways both in and out of our church, while also being the best financial stewards of the money God has given us. This involves trimming non-essential expenses, monitoring cash flow, and keeping a prudent amount in reserve so we can help our church members in the next few months. We are resetting our priorities for the next 90 days and investing in building out our Church Online ministries. These proactive efforts will preserve our mission and ensure the church is working right after this coronavirus crisis is over.

I read this quote today from Vladimir Lenin and find it so true (although I seldom agree with Lenin!). "There are decades where nothing happens, and there are weeks where decades happen." There is no playbook for this, so let's continue to pray, take precautions, but not live in fear. We have a great church and an even greater God. Don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you have.

Stay healthy and hopeful my flock. You are greatly loved.

P.S. I'm sure you're reading lots of things right now. Our friend, Bob Russell has one of the best coronavirus lists I've read.
