Direct from David: It’s almost time!

What is the church really? In our Like Jesus journey last Sunday, we talked about that.

Collectively, we are a Temple, a Bride, a Body, and a Family. And it is Jesus’ church. Jesus told Peter He would build His church. Not a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, but a living, breathing, mobilized army. You can do lots of things that matter, but there was a guy 2,000 years ago who was dead and came back to life. I’m going to hitch up to His construction crew and help build what He’s building.

We will be celebrating that resurrected life of Jesus in four weeks. It’s a BIG DEAL! And it’s one of the best opportunities to invite. We have three worship gatherings on Easter weekend and we are asking you to attend one service and serve at another. Our greatest serving opportunities are in Guest Services and Harbortown. Harbortown will be open for all three services. We will also need some folks to attend the Saturday service on March 31 in order to create space at our two Sunday services. Could you consider? Maybe attend on Saturday and then serve on Sunday?

What a run we will have leading up to Easter. You might call it our Easter Bundle. It begins with A Night of Worship and Vision on March 18, followed by a comedy concert with Michael Jr. on March 23, our March 31/April 1 Easter weekend services, and then on April 8 – well, I’m working on a surprise for that Sunday I’ll share later! So do your best inviting to all these – I think you will be surprised by how quickly many agree to join you. Take a risk!

Last Sunday, I shared Galatians 6:10 – ‘Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.’ If any of you in the Whitewater family was adversely affected by the recent flooding and need some help, please email Shannan Davis, our Solve 7 coordinator, so we can help you. It’s the church working right!

Serving others should be a key part of your spiritual growth at Whitewater. Here is James Hansee to talk about that spiritual growth plan.

I can’t believe it, but March, Spring, and Easter are finally here. I’m ready for warmth, Easter, growth, and also some golf!

P.S. Do you know that I do a weekly radio show called REV? My on-air partner Lori and I talk about anything and everything. Tune in sometime! It’s every Sunday night at 7pm.
