Direct from David: Four things I get to do (and you can too)!

1. I get to teach about things I love. Last Sunday, I got to teach from John 3 with the help of my granddaughter Brooklyn.

We talked about the John 3:16 guy.  Not this guy, but a guy named Nicodemus – the original ‘Nic at Night.’ We are never more like Jesus than when we engage people in life-changing conversations.

2. I get to gather and have a time of extended worship with all of you on Sunday evening, March 18. Hope you plan on attending. Come prepared to hear from God and experience an amazing night of connection with Michael Boggs leading. We will also have an opportunity to be inspired through some stories and vision of what God has in store for Whitewater in the coming year. Since we need to gather together as a family at least once a year anyway (AKA congregational meeting), we figured this would be a fun way to do it! Elder Secretary Jim Eger says that there will be no official family business or voting though. Childcare will be provided for ages infant to Pre-K. Please pre-register here to participate!

3. I get to hear Michael Jr. here at Whitewater on Friday night, March 23. The Bible says that laughter is good medicine and that is so true! I’ve have heard Michael Jr. multiple times and he is creative and compelling. Perhaps buy a ticket for a friend who doesn’t go to church and then use that great experience to invite them back for our Easter services the next weekend!

4. Because we are trying to be Like Jesus, we get to solve the 7 biggest problems of our world. Our Students are currently raising needed funds to go on two mission trips this summer to Mexico and Northern Ireland. Both nations have huge spiritual needs – not to mention the huge life change that takes place in our students lives as they go and serve globally! Envelopes are available for donations of various amounts on the Missions/Solve 7 wall in The Landing. Please take one and return it with the appropriate cash/check. Dozens were taken last Sunday, but we still have more left. Let’s rally around our Students! For more info on our ongoing efforts to Solve these 7 problems, please read the latest Solve 7 Newsletter from Whitewater staff member and newlywed Mrs. Shannan Davis.

Those are just 4 of the things we get to do. Hope you are as excited as I am!

P.S. We also get to see God move in some powerful ways at this church. Don’t take it for granted.

Saw this cartoon and it made me smile. Wonder how Jesus would respond to these challenges today!?
