What Is Prayer?

For many of us, when we think of prayer there is a formality that comes to mind. You have to hold your hands a certain way, say a certain thing, use certain words and that’s when you can say you’ve prayed. But Prayer isn’t meant to be a formula or recipe for getting something or feeling better about what we’ve accomplished. Rather, prayer is a conversation between you and God.

Yes, it’s that simple.

Prayer is just a fancy name for talking to God about everything and anything in life. Now there are aspects of prayer that have different intentions and different approaches, but in it’s most simple form, prayer is a conversation between you and your heavenly father.

7 Day Devotional

on the YouVersion Bible App

We all agree on the importance of prayer. We know it is a priority in our lives. We hear sermons and teachings on it, and we promise to pray for others. If you’re a follower of Christ, you understand prayer is your access to God. The reality is that we all WANT to pray- but oftentimes, we don’t know how. These next 7 days, we’ll look at the Lord’s prayer and break it down as our example for prayer.

Let's Pray

Ask for others to pray with and for you, or Pray for others who have asked.
