2nd Quarter Report 2020

The Whitewater Difference

How has COVID19 changed the mission of Whitewater?

I'm pleased to report that COVID19 has only affirmed the mission of Whitewater and propelled it forward in a way that may not have happened otherwise. People are finding hope in Jesus and a home at Whitewater just as they were before, though the path they're taking to get there looks different than we could have ever imagined.

Online and Outdoor Church

We officially launched Church Online towards the end of March and have used this platform as our primary method of weekly sharing the gospel message with thousands of people. Since the launch, and because of your generosity, we've been able to expand our reach by hosting several Outdoor Church services located at our physical campus.

Life Center: Resource Fund

The Life Center has continued to be utilized during the pandemic as hundreds of families have been served in some capacity (food pantry, classes, financial support) month after month.

Family Ministry

Kids and Youth Ministry is alive and well, although the avenue in which content is shared looks completely different than it did this time last year. Events such as Meet UP, Eat UP, Read UP, and Picnics THRU the Parking Lot were altered to adhere to COVID19 guidelines and weekly in-person gatherings have been replaced with age-specific services and messaging found on:

Our Mission

...here at Whitewater is to help people find hope in Jesus and a home in His church.

This process often takes time but there's nothing more exciting than seeing this mission come to life in the lives of real people!

Sam's Story is really impactful because it highlights what happens when the church is working right! Stories like these are possible because of your support.

Pastor David recently said the following:

'We are not all in the same boat, but we are all in the same storm.' That powerful analogy (credited to Damian Barr) is so true when it comes to this COVID19 season. It also applies to our ability to give. Some at Whitewater are in a season of shortage (job loss, etc.) and others are in a season of enough or even plenty.

No matter what season you find yourself in right now, we can be challenged and encouraged by the example of the Macedonians in 2 Corinthians 8: 1-7:

"And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord's people. And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us... But since you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you-see that you also excel in this grace of giving."

Let the example of the Macedonian believers inform and inspire your generosity to the church at Whitewater right now. There has never been a more relevant time for generosity to be encouraged and shared. We have seen generosity at its best over the last couple of months. So, thank you. People are responding and God is being glorified.

'We are not all in the same boat, but we are all in the same storm.' And the Master of the storm rides in our boat!

Thank you for being a difference maker!

The Story

"I just wanted to let you know how very much I appreciate the online messages that Whitewater Crossing provides. I just listened to last week's message on Hope and it was just so uplifting.

I've been in touch with somebody at church who was so kind to email me Jereca Humphries. My daughter and I are looking for a new church and we been watching online and we shared that it's just so scary coming to to a new place but after he emailed us and reached out I thought how kind that is because he doesn't even know us yet he offered to meet us at church on a Sunday and show us around. I appreciate that so much. I have a little bit of a hard time getting around but I am looking forward to attending church there because I feel like God has actually been guiding us there for a couple of years now. Our neighbors come to church there and they are such wonderful people and have told us all about the church and the wonderful things that you do. I was quite stuck on staying at my old church but I just feel like God is pushing us to be someplace where we can serve him and receive his message.

I just wanted to really thank you so much for putting the messages online. Truly the message on Hope was much-needed and I could feel like God was speaking to me through you. Thank you so much again. Have a wonderful rest of the week.
